GoIreland invite you to submit photographs that capture a unique and personal view of Ireland using the theme ‘An Eye for Ireland

Winner 2009

Held in association with John Hinde Ireland, the GoIreland.com Photography Awards is an international amateur tourist photography competition aimed at showcasing Ireland and its tourism qualities. Open to both Irish holidaymakers and inbound visiting tourists, the Photography Awards invite’s you to use your imagination and skill to capture an image that characterises the country’s tourism qualities. The photograph should attempt to best represent Ireland’s reputation as a picturesque tourism location. Perhaps it may be a view of a well-known tourism setting or a hidden gem that deserves more attention.

The winning photograph of the GoIreland.com Photography Awards 2010 will become part of history by being reproduced in the 2012 John Hinde Calendar and distributed throughout the country. The winning amateur photographer will win an award winning Olympus E-PL1 camera.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 15th December 2010 (3pm CET).

Data Recovery

I’ve just spent the last few days recovering my files from a 500gb external drive which corrupted while I was editing photos taken over the weekend. I thought I’d share the experience to emphasise the importance of backing up your photos and to let you know that not all is lost when a hard drive fails.  Read more in the Tutorials section here
